It's all about the presentation as EA produce another hit with latest installment. Anyone familiar with the FIFA series will know that with each year that passes EA tends to make minor changes rather than overhaul the whole engine to new installments. FIFA 15 is no different. If you played FIFA 14 then you’ll feel right at home here, although tweaks have been made to improve the experience.  But it is on the pitch during play, with the ball at your players' feet, that you will understand how far EA has come with a series that is an open love letter to the beautiful game.

The other big change in graphic terms relates to the players. They are no longer built around weighty blocks, therefore looking more squat and chunkier than their real-life counterparts, but instead their bodies look more like the real thing - even with kits layered on top that look like they are worn rather than painted on.



And the player faces are dramatically improved. While that sounds like an exaggeration, the new expressive and animated players are the most noticeable improvement to this year's edition. Fire in a thunderbolt from thirty yards and your striker's face will in twist in contortions of wide-eyed joy, miss an easy chance and you'll be greeted with bemusement, shame or anger at a misplaced pass. It's a simple, but well-executed addition that adds even more realism to a game that is almost indistinguishable from a televised match.

Yet, even then, this isn't the most outrageous example of FIFA's passing model. No, that would be the blind pass which should be risky but feels more or less as safe as a straight pass. For a game which appears so realistic, it's ridiculously jarring to watch a player spin through 180 degrees to make an inch perfect pass to a player they likely wouldn't know was there. There are few individual mechanics in FIFA as damaging to realism: the fact you can easily make these passes allows you to more or less bypass the concept of build up play.
