FUT ranks players in gold, silver and bronze cards. Players ranked 0-64 will appear on bronze cards, FIFA players ranked players will appear on silver cards and players that fall in a rank between 75-99 are gold. This is a simple way for FIFA 17 to present prospects for easy sorting. With all of the transactions required in FUT, being able to instantly identify your star players saves time you could spend on the field. Remember, if you buy packs of a specific color, only players in that color’s rank range will appear, so save your coins for better packs where you can.  

 

The only downside is that you cannot view a player's stats, nationality, position or club, so if you want to find out more about the lesser-known stars to see if they'd fit in your Ultimate Team, you'd going to have to first search for them in the transfer market to check their original card. By definition, a hybrid team is a squad built with players of different leagues and nationalities. They are difficult to build and unless you already have some experience, you will spend lots of time trying to make a hybrid squad with high chemistry.

 

As you play more matches, you’ll earn coins that you can spend on new packs. The “Players” tab is where you want to head for players (surprisingly!), and they can be had for either coins or FIFA Points, which you buy with real money.

Complete certain Milestones. Consumables come in all shapes and sizes, and can be anything from coaches on your staff to the game ball your team uses at home games. FIFA 17 has the ability to sense areas that need improvement on your squad and recommends the activation of certain consumables, like a boost in your fitness rating or help with positioning. Do not brush this off.  

 

You’ll find these by tapping the “Accomplishments” tile on the main screen. Not all Milestones reward you with players upon completion, but most do, and you can see what level of player you’ll receive ahead of time. You’ll have to keep an eye on player chemistry changes, and you can even edit kit numbers and pick who takes free kicks and corners. Thankfully, coins and points can be transferred from Xbox 360 and PS3 to their next –gen successors, for those keen on both versions of the game. 

 

Depending on your FIFA player level, better loan players will be available to you, from a shiny silver at level 5 all the way up to Cristiano Ronaldo at level 50. You cannot apply contracts to these cards to extend their loan spell, but training, fitness, chemistry styles and other consumables can be used, though it'd be a bit of a waste considering their limited availability. One of the largest factors in FUT is team chemistry. 

 

When viewing your active squad, notice the colored lines between all neighboring players on the pitch. The colors will display as red, green and yellow. Use these connections to monitor the level of chemistry among your players. Players with the most chemistry will be linked with green lines. Players with a bit less chemistry but similar attributes will be connected with yellow. Finally, a red line designates little to no chemistry.
